Private sessions allow you to progress at your own speed with dedicated attention from your
instructor, Kalyn James. Twice a week is the recommended schedule for the most efficient
progress, but our Pilates menu accommodates all schedules.
If you have Pilates equipment (or a mat) we can even travel to you (additional fees will apply). A customized program will be developed specifically for you according to your body’s megafit needs.
Payments must be made in advance. Package Payments must be paid in full at time of purchase. Cancellations or reschedules are appreciated no less than 24 hours in advance or the session may be forfeited. Sessions will be forfeited if client is 20 minutes late.

I began dancing at the age of 9 and danced and taught professionally for a decade. I taught HIIT classes in 1990 and began teaching barre fitness in Miami in 2008. LitPilates began in 2017 as a part time job. My passion to help people achieve a consistent quality wellness practice led to LitFitness LLC which was founded in 2020 with a mission to make private Pilates instruction accessible and attainable to anyone who wants to improve their wellbeing through movement.
Coming from the Deep South, I am aware of the chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes that adversely affect so many. Pilates is a safe and efficient modality which helps reduce the risk and effects of chronic diseases. Private classes are often considered a luxury. LitPilates makes fitness accessible so more people can enjoy a better quality of life with strong, healthy and happy bodies. You’ll feel great and look even better. It’s Lit to be Fit.

I’ve been practicing Pilates for more than 40 years. My goal as an instructor is to use my experience to inspire people to stay in shape and live well.
As a former Ms. Alabama, I’ve used my platform to speak on matters that affect my community, including education, social justice, inclusion, equity and police brutality.
